Surprisingly Good Sushi at Fuego

Updated: Dec 12, 2019

Sushi restaurants have popped up everywhere in Cairo recently, and Cairenes are mad about them. Not only are many of them very good, compared to the price of Sushi in Europe, they are all relatively affordable. For those visiting from abroad, having the chance to eat as much sushi as you want, without nervously having to check your wallet, is a luxury.

While not your classic Egyptian meal out, Cairo is an international city with international tastes. The current appetite for sushi in Cairo and for other cuisines is very much part of contemporary Egypt. While places like Dubai and London are well-known for their restaurants with cuisines from all around the world, there's no reason why Cairo won't follow in their footsteps. So, if you're getting a bit tired of maashi and shawerma, head to Fuego in Zamalek, which is my wife and I's favourite sushi spot. It's a small cosy and elegant restaurant with around 8 tables. The sushi is great and the service is top-notch! We'd recommend the Fuego 40 deal which is more than enough to feed two. You can check them out on Facebook here.
